Take Action Today to Support the Special Educator Workforce

CEC encourages you and your colleagues to join us in support of IDEA Part D Personnel Preparation funding that could address the special educator shortage crisis.

Congress is working on a reconciliation package that could include $900 million for Part D Personnel Preparation, which prepares new special educators, early interventionists, and specialized instructional support personnel—replenishing the workforce. This investment could fully address the growing shortages over the next 10 years. As part of the broader $9 billion educator pipeline investment proposed in the American Families Plan, these funds are critical to effectively serving all children with disabilities.

We are partnering with numerous groups to make our voice as loud as possible and turn this proposal into a reality!

Please take 2 minutes to send a pre-drafted, customizable email to your Congressional delegation here. Every message counts so please share this message widely. Let’s reverse the trend and build back the special educator workforce!
