Recognize Excellence in Special Education
Every year, dozens of education professionals are recognized for their work supporting individuals with disabilities. The database below links to many of these opportunities for you to nominate yourself or a colleague.
Academic Scholarship
There are two scholarships worth $750.00 each to support grade 12 or returning university students who are pursuing a career directly related to working with persons with exceptionalities. The individuals must be entering into, or currently enrolled in a full time education program at an accredited post-secondary institution, be a resident of Manitoba and not have been a previous award winner. Applicants may only apply once in high school and once during their post secondary education.
Transition Scholarship
There are two scholarships worth $750.00 each available to a student in Manitoba with exceptional needs who is transitioning from high school to after school life, such as post-secondary education, job training or employment. The winning student must demonstrate a "Yes I Can" attitude. The scholarship money is given directly to the student upon verification of graduation from high school.

The Yes I Can Awards were established to acknowledge the achievements of children and youth with disabilities; to overcome barriers caused by disabilities or public misconceptions; to encourage children and youth with disabilities to seek their highest potential; and to increase awareness of the abilities, aspirations, and personal qualities of people with disabilities.
