White House Announces New Director of Disability Policy
This week, the White House announced that Day Al-Mohamed is the Domestic Policy Council's new Director of Disability Policy. Al-Mohamed comes to the White House from the Department of Labor, where she focused on workplace safety and the Add Us In initiative, which aims to increase companies’ capacities to employ people with disabilities. Al-Mohamed has worked on a wide range of policy issues, including disability policy, for the American Psychological Association and the American Council of the Blind. She is also a filmmaker, author, and radio host. Al-Mohamed replaces Kimberly Knackstedt, who recently became a senior fellow at the Century Foundation, where she is focusing on economic justice for people with disabilities and their families.
